The Upper East Side is much more than Museum Mile. It is a neighborhood with a distinct architectural legacy, small and independent businesses, and residents that engage in their community. 

In collaboration with Friends of the Upper East Side, and Manhattan Sideways, we want to highlight this community that is home to smaller, independent businesses, a vibrant creative culture, schools and people from around the globe. This is a place where architectural beauty, historic resources and new development exist in harmony.

Using the work of local New York artists, we wish to spark a conversation about the idea of what makes a community “beyond the bricks.”
