Artist Statement:

Chandle Lee is a multidisciplinary artist and creator. He is an architectural designer and artist creating paintings that engage and celebrate the diversity of humanity and exploring the anxieties and tensions of our time. Born and raised in the ethnically diverse country of Malaysia, Chandle yearned for the American Dream to escape the racism and inequalities in his native country only to discover the less than perfect union of the United States that he dreamed of. Chandle speaks his voice through his art. His paintings reflect the values instilled in him during his upbringing in Malaysia, the Freedom of Expression he cherished in the United States, and the love of architectural design.

Chandle was educated in the United States, he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor Degree in Architecture from Arizona State University, and graduated with distinction at the University of Michigan Master of Architecture program. Chandle also engaged in teaching, he was a teaching assistant at the University of Michigan and taught at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.
