This image is pen and ink on paper and acrylic paint on a poster board. It is a self portrait made during the pandemic. Being away from school for so long gave me the confidence to try radical things like this hairdo. For much of 2020 I was alone, but spent a lot of time thinking about the social unrest in the United States and how issues of inclusion affect people within our own country and around the world. Over the year I did a series of portraits of men, in different mediums. Some drawings were of myself, some were of older men, and some were of younger men. Some were kind of silly and some more serious.
