I have been living on Sugar Hill in Harlem for a year now and love the beauty of the neighborhood. The architecture is exquisite and the parks provide an oasis from the concrete jungle. The Parks are where I find the inspiration and subject for the pieces I am submitting here: a series of multi-media artworks that start with my original photos taken last autumn in both Riverside Park and St. Nicholas Park. I have the photos printed on canvas and use oil paints, acrylic markers and paints to bring out depth and emphasis and hopefully, a little magic! I grew up in NYC, where my first art lessons were in Public School. They were my favorite classes and the reason I enjoyed going to school. I am loving my new life in West Harlem and am grateful to exhibit with Art on the Ave and the West Harlem Arts Alliance. I continue to photograph throughout West Harlem and would like to create many more works of art showing off the beauty of this area of New York.
