In West Harlem, art thrives in spaces where strangers form relationships through shared familiarity. For the series "West Harlem: Where Art Lives," I focus on the neighborhood that raised me, showcasing staple locations that, through frequent visits, turn strangers into familiar faces. Whether it’s riding the train every morning and recognizing the same passengers, frequenting your corner deli where they've watched your family grow just as you've seen theirs, or visiting the same Chinese spot where they remember your usual order, these places become intertwined with the culture and memories of West Harlem. Through this series, I aim to capture the artistic essence of these locations and the subtle yet powerful connections they foster.
