Common motifs in my artwork are flora and fauna - things that grow, twist, rise and take flight. It is said that in nature something can either be growing and dying - as such the wildly growing vines and greenery express nature's desire to rise up and search for light and nourishment. This them Aldo draws inspiration from the ornate paisley patterns of traditional Islamic art.

Birds, butterflies and other winged creatures also appear frequently. They serve as a visual metaphor for rising, both literally and figuratively. My artwork exudes the energy of life, movement, and growth. In my work I attempt to re-capture the innocence, wonder and life force that children often express so exuberantly, which can be easy to lose as we get older and more sophisticated.
