My work speak to the theme of The Rise, since these three pieces, part of the same series were based on the idea of rebirth, hope for a better day, freedom of expression to heal anxieties, and frustrations.

The phoenix bird symbolizes immortality, resurrection and life after death, and in ancient Greek and Egyptian mythology it is associated with the sun god. In this piece, it is related to another character (the fire eater) who is associated with fire, where a controversy is created between the possibility of being reborn and not being reborn.

Fakir is a religious of India and other Eastern countries who leads a life of prayer and great austerity, lives on alms and performs surprising acts of mortification. In this piece, the fakir is combined with the royal palm tree, Cuba's national tree. Where I create a relationship between meditation and the need to release your emotions.

The genie of the lamp is waiting for orders to fulfill your wishes. In this case he went out by his own decision to serve his people. The genie has positive and optimistic thoughts, even in very difficult situations. Its people hope for a better future.
