My artistic practice embodies the theme of "Spread Love... It's The Brooklyn Way" through a dual focus on storytelling and visual art that celebrates love, resilience, and joy within the Black experience. I believe that Black joy is an act of resilience and will always center it in my art. Through street photography and Poetry, I capture the beauty and strength of everyday life in Brooklyn, highlighting the love and raw connection that bind us together. Inspired by the words of Biggie Smalls, who famously said, "Spread love, it's the Brooklyn way," I seek to amplify voices and experiences that are often marginalized or overlooked. My Black Fatherhood Project, for example, shines a spotlight on the love and dedication of Black fathers, challenging stereotypes and celebrating the deep, meaningful connections between fathers and their children. Representation matters deeply to me, and I strive to depict diverse and authentic portrayals of the Black experience in my work. Through my art, I aim to inspire empathy, understanding, and unity, promoting a more inclusive and loving community in Brooklyn and beyond. By sharing these stories and images, I hope to encourage others to seek and spread love in their own lives, embodying the true spirit of "Spread Love... It's The Brooklyn Way."
