Jabari Asante

Photography is my medium of storytelling. As a Brooklyn native I’ve been focused on documenting the city the last 4 years. In those years I’ve seen many changes and built a body of work. Since 2021 I've portrayed my work to the public. Fulton station is one of the spaces where people see my work and the stories in my photographs. I want to reflect on life to share genuine stories of New York and the people.

My name is Jabari Asante. As a Brooklyn, NY native I strive to tell the modern story of New York. Photography is a form of art and documentation for me. I’ve experimented in my craft heavily in 2020 seeing the shift in society I felt motivated to create photographs. Later in 2021 I started busking and showcasing my photo prints for the public to share these stories and sell my work for profits while making a living. Seeing the consistency of people who resonate with my work inspires me to continue my craft. I've showcased my work outside the Brooklyn Museum for over 2 years and I strive to have my work in such spaces in the future.
