Glori B.

My artistic practice flows out of me to naturally highlight the beauty and resilience of people of color. I focus on content that uplifts, edifies, and provides an un-feigned view of African American life. Poetry has been a beautiful expression of the African American journey.  It has been an escape for complex  thoughts defaulting from brazen oppression, deep emotion and the symphonic beauty of everyday life.  Toni Morrison is one of my favorite orators. She taught me through her poetry, to understand I am from people who have climbed up from a  place of the disadvantaged and have used the power of education to become excellent. That is what I paint. That is resilience.
