Izzy Church & Matty Austin

Notably, Izzy is collaborating with puppeteer and esteemed artist Matty Austin on two contemporary sustainable angler fish lamp sculptures to pave a path toward a brighter, more sustainable future."

Matty Austin is an F.X. artist/puppet fabricator/producer/performer originally from Alexandria, VA. After graduating from the Walnut Hill School for the Visual and Performing Arts, he ventured to London to study hair styling and coloring at the esteemed Graham Webb Academy. He returned to the U.S. and founded a concierge hair styling business catering to the music and fashion industry in New York City. A performer/producer at heart, Matty moved on to found a new business, Sid and Buddy Karaoke, which became a “pick of the week” in the NYC Voice, Time Out and received glowing reviews in the New York Press, the New York Post, and the New York Times. The underground, cult Karaoke show started in the East Village and quickly expanded to some of the hottest clubs in Manhattan. Matty graduated from the New York Film Academy in 2006 with a focus in Directing. Matty has also studied drama and has starred in commercials for Heineken, Bugle Boy, BBC America, and the Maryland Jockey Club. He has been featured in several television series, including Third Watch, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Law & Order: SVU. A lifetime fan of puppetry, Matt returned to school to learn puppet fabrication, puppeteering, and special effects makeup. He graduated with an associate’s degree from the Tom Savini School in Pittsburgh. He currently resides in NYC, creating content for film, television, and the internet.
