As a visual artist, I draw inspiration from my interests in music (past and present) beauty, fashion and life experiences as a woman of color from Brooklyn. My only purpose is to cause some kind of connection rather it be a conversation and or debate between people from different/ or same spaces or a direct connection between the subject and the viewer. My pieces "Beaded Beauty" and "De Tangle" reflects the theme "Spread love, its the Brooklyn way". They are parts of a growing series that I am currently working on that shows the love and tender care that we as black women put into each other's hair. Rather you just love to do hair in your salon or you just love fixing/or maintaining the health of your baby girl's hair, we spread that love through our hands.
