Repetitive movement is the first step of meditation. The harmonic relationship between the rhythmic strokes and colors provides clarity within the spectator’s mind to meditate on their emotions without having a confining worldly connection. I notice that imposing geometric systems and patterns within nature is an intrinsic tendency of humans including myself. I see a juxtaposition between the landscape of the world and natural order in agricultural patterns which gives me the inspiration to paint.
My paintings are an invitation for the spectator to take a journey within the grand scheme of the canvas. The spectator is a bird within the painting, flying through the firmament and witnessing a panorama of nature’s creations. The journey becomes a framework for the observer to look at the piece from different angles and appreciate the intricate designs within. It is essential for the journey to be an epiphany of self-actualization that can only be experienced by being the figurative omniscient bird within the painting. I wish to make the spectator pause throughout each piece and be drawn into the beauty and simplicity of the art that is hidden within. In retrospect, my works are reflections of my emotions and respond back with colors and strokes I resonate with at the moment. They are an emotionally charged depiction of space and nature that coexist to awaken the inner creative mind. I wish to create companionship with what's physical and amalgamate it with the imaginative space that’s created by art.
