Art has healed my mind, body, and soul since I began painting a few years ago. Through the bold vibrant colors and positive messages in my paintings I express things that are personal to Me and relatable to other people. I find it comforting when people connect with my art and want my pieces to be a part of their life. My art is an expression of my mental health battles, my health challenges, my experiences, emotions, inspirations, and stories that I choose to tell. My paintings celebrate color, form, and texture. I work primarily with acrylics that I either apply with brushes or pour onto canvas. The two pieces that I have chosen to represent the theme, “Connections” resonated with me because the act of pouring and splashing was comforting. Every pour and splash became an integral part to connecting the final, finished piece.
