About the Artist:

Kate, born and raised in NYC, and Willis, the daughter of a transient naval photographer, have both lived within and as witnesses to the transformation of neighborhoods. These experiences have led to works that are an amalgamation of different images, color and form. Their work highlights the human condition, particularly the physical spaces in which we live and experiences that form the personal stories of lives within the various intersectionalities of class, race, gender identity, how they overlap, particularly the experiences of marginalized

individuals or groups. Willis and Kate incorporate their photography and meld it into collage

form. By tearing, cutting and burning images, they are put together again to represent something new while capturing both the historical and modern aesthetic.
