Artist Statement

As a result, for precaution from covid 19 pandemic, I stayed home more than I ever have. I became aware of the sunrise and sunset, the beautiful colors reflected on the buildings the color of the sky. Strong majestic colors, warm and inviting. The combinations of the color and light, producing definite intersections independent of each other. It looked like a jigsaw puzzle. The contrast of hues, shadows, and tones playing off one another gives strength to the visual. The three pieces I have submitted show an example of this. My work is symmetrical, easily understood with a calming effect. I feel my work is balanced.  The images were taken at different times during the day.

“Good morning, New York” shot at sunrise.  The brilliant colors lighting up the building, took my breath away. “Beautiful Day?” was late afternoon, clouds created a mackerel sky drew my attention. “Pink House” was shot mid-day direct bright sun, the shadows are strong, the colors are vibrant.
