Artist Statement
The title of my work is Prairie. The prairie is like a crossroad, with many fences separating different streets. When we walk as pedestrians at crossroads, we will constantly cross with different people. It feels like running on a prairie. Only wind and grass are with us. Although we are physically close, each of us retains our own bubbles in our hearts, just like our own prairie. There is only a simple row of fences in the picture, which describe the direct separation between me and passersby. There is no towering wall between us. We keep our distance between each other by the small fence that can be climbed at any time. This represents All of us having a delicate relationship at intersections. We may become friends or we may just pass by.
