Artist Statement
My artistic practice is speaking to the theme of "Intersections", by selecting artwork's of my creations depicting a diverse culture brought to the United States of America, all the way from another country named Haiti. I was taking a walk in the Prisoect Park one summer day, when walked up on a large gathering of folks dressed in beautiful colors. Celebrating their culture, and religion, Vodoo. I didn't expect to see such rituals going on in Brooklyn New York, two criss/ crossing, to let others know, especially the youth of today. That the U.S.A. accept all culture, religion and its people. And it is ok to know and avoid culture shock. To know about people and their culture from different countries, it help to learn how to adopt different culture. Because different religion, and culture doesn't makes one less human, this only educates us, about their strength and survival method's, by traditions. Vodoo is very much alive in Brooklyn, in many way's clashing against Christians' beliefs.
