Luisa López Celada, an artist from Guadalajara, Spain, came to the U.S. on a Fulbright scholarship, fluent in Spanish and French but not English. She earned a master’s in Communications Design at Pratt Institute and founded a successful design firm. While raising her child alone in New York City, a health challenge led her to rediscover her true passion—painting—and she made it her mission to share the therapeutic power of creating art. Now, thanks to Arts on the Ave NYC, she has the perfect space to paint and facilitate art therapy.
