Meet the Artist

Growing up on his grandparents' farm in Taiwan, James Hsieh has always been fascinated by nature's diversity and bounty. In his current practice, he makes two-dimensional works from drawings that he eventually transforms into large-format installations. Using felt and textiles, James creates solid forms with which he builds immersive environments that activate the viewer's childlike amazement at nature. Watch his whimsical world grow at the 28 Liberty Street gallery.
